will a 149 with a bale spear move large square bales?

I need to load and unload the truck in the shed and just need something to move the bales. Will a properly ballasted 149 do the job?

No. The 149 was manufactured by Cub in 1974. It is a good unit to use as a mower, I just don't think it was designed to substitute for a tractor.

Define "large square bales". How much weight? Rigging up some sort of spear/forks? Or Loader?

Probably not your ideal setup, but depending on the situation, possible. Need more info.

They would weigh around 800 lbs and I was hoping to lift them on the front, but would not mind lifting them on the back either.
I just need to move them in the shed to load and unload my pickup.
