Just not sure on this one. I need ground to be a little soft to aerate, but don't know if my 3320 with R4's is too heavy. (1620 lbs w/out areator). Just need a little input before I take the plunge. Thanks.

If the ground is soft you will leave tracks. Sounds to me like your aerator needs to work with the ground being firm. I would address the issue of why the aerator is not working properly. Do you have enough weight on it? Pics might help.

Check again - I think your 3320 weighs about 2x that.

I don't know what kind of soil you have in your area but around here I can get on the sod a few days after a heavy rain and not leave tracks. I have good black dirt and stay out of the known low spots. If you can walk around and not feel soft I would go for it. I have loaded tires on my 3320 and have not had any issues. You could driver over a spot and feel for ruts with your foot. I weighed the axles on mine and the front tires with the loader on are heavier than the back with no attachment.

DDan,

I'm in northern il., same type of soil. I pretty much assumed to just use my common sense, which is basically what you said. Thanks for the input. Should be fine since tires are not filled and loader is currently off.

Baby grand,

you were correct! I inadvertently looked at the weight in KG'S.

Baby grand,

you were correct! I inadvertently looked at the weight in KG'S.

The only reason I checked was we have similar machines and I remember coming very close to signing for a 3320.

BTW - the metric mistake is nothing if the only downside is some ruts in your lawn. Immagine how these guys felt:

The Mars Climate Orbiter was intended to enter orbit at an altitude of 140.5?50 km (460,000-500,000 ft.) above Mars. However, a navigation error caused the spacecraft to reach as low as 57 km (190,000 ft.). The spacecraft was destroyed by atmospheric stresses and friction at this low altitude. The navigation error arose because the contractors for craft's thrusters did not use SI units to express their performance[1].

This is from an old post. I never did weigh it with my snow plow on instead of the bucket. I probably don't wan to know

Dan

I went in town to push snow at my dad's today and stopped by the grain elevator to weigh my 3320.
No cab, front and rear filled to the valve stem with Rim Guard, 300 CX loader with heavy 5' bucket
no wheel weights and me off the tractor.

Rear tires 43x16-20
Front tires 27x8.5-15

Total 4980
Rear axle 2300
Front axle 2680

I hope this helps someone

I know this is an old thread, but just to reinforce the approximante weight of the 3320, mine is right around 4660 with 300CX loader & filled tires. I think most people under-estimate the weight of the 3x20's.
