After 27 years, I convinced my wife to "get behind the gun". I told her Monday that she should give it a try Wednesday morning after the cold front blew through, to my surprise she said "OK, I'll try it once". ( I have tried every year for 27 years LOL, she will go elk hunting, but ends up looking for rocks and arrow heads LOL )
I got off work and got home in time to wake her with 30 minutes to spare, so we didn't get in the blind until 5:33am, a bit later than I was hoping for.
We could see a large body at the feeder at twilight, I could also make out horn. We waited until good visibility and ended up watching this old boy for an hour before he stepped out of the trees enough for her to feel comfortable taking the shot at her 2nd only animal (1st was a Tom).
She made a heck of shot with the 300wsm (only 80 yards but hey), got so excited she started tearing up..LOL . I'm as proud as a new daddy, this buck is ooold and will be mounted. Hardly a tooth left, I figure/guess he's 6.5+ , great 9 point with great character, 18-4/8ths wide, but in any respect a trophy in my eyes.
I told her you fellas may get a hoot out of it, so here he is.
