Tractor
5300 JD 4X4
I have a couple of tractors, but NO, she wants her own.
My 5300 JD makes her a bit uncomfortable around the house and I agree, it is a bit much for a lawnmower and barking the flowerbeds.
I would have liked to look at a mahindra, but there isn't a dealer close by. Where I bought my JD has a poor maintenance dept so I went elsewhere.
Wound up with a Kioti 20S with loader. I was going for the gear model, but was disappointed withs the ground speed in low gear, too fast for good tilling, and with the 2sp, reverse was too slow or too fast, been there before. Wound up with the hydo. I think she will get along with that just fine.
I live in Ak and she is in Wa. I will be taking the bigger rig up north with me anyway and she has been using my rigs for over 30yrs so I don't worry about her with a small trailer and light use of a loader.
Thing is she sent me to town for relish for hamburgers, wouldn't' you know, forgot the relish.
Now the hard part, finding a pink greasegun.

I agree with Thomas when you find a keeper, keep her even if it means a little white lie about the relish. We all forget.Well forgot what else I had planned to say.:DDave

My wife is very happy with "her" BX2660 and does all the greasing as well as cleaning the screens. We both work on the fluid and filter changes on all our tractors.

Last night, she began asking questions on the operation of our 8540...

I don't have to worry about my wife...no interest in tractors or other outdoor work whatsoever.

Yeah, I mentioned how easy it was to operate compared to our old and beloved CX80. Of course when I was speaking of "easy" it was in relative terms, her enthusiasm waned. Once I get really comfortable with it, I will teach her how to operate it, but I doubt she will actually ever do any more than move it from one place to the next as we use a 10' pull type rotary cutter almost all the time.

As to the tractors, just as long as she doesn't mind that you do:thumbsup:
