Made to compete in Jeep meets over ridiculous terrain. It is inferior however because the rear wheels are not far enough apart. And clearance is marginal. Also lacks heat and air conditioning.

I was thinking the same as everyone else mentioned.
Kind of a "solution looking for a problem".

I couldn't help thinking, when he had the extra wheels vertical beside him, that I wouldn't want
drive wheels that close to me while moving.

One thing sticks out to me here:
Bat crap is known for a plethora of horrifying diseases with histoplasmosis being the most common but also the more begin. there is also (SARS), Henipavirus, Nipah, TB, and Hendra to name just a few.

So imagine the poor sob who is in the cave with a bucket and a shovel, with little more to protect him beyond a thin hazmat suit and his boss' assurances. I'm pretty sure even Mike Rowe would have passed.
