Why isnt there a extended box blade shank so it can serve as a subsoiler?

I need to lay about 400 feet of 1.25" polyethylene pipe and am planning on using the subsoiler pipe laying attachment I found at Agrisupply. Its designed to be attached to a subsoiler, which is another $200 or more. I've already got the box blade and the subsoiler shank and tooth looks pretty much identical to the box blade ripper teeth - just a lot longer.

So why isnt there a readily available long shank box blade tooth? I'd think it'd be a no-brainer. God knows the box blade is robust enough - they're build like a brick sh!thouse.

Since I can't find one I'm probably going to just cut one out of some steel bar stock and add a tooth that I buy online, then add the pipelayer.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm thinking the typical box blade isn't built to take the stress that the big tooth would dish out. Have a look at the construction of subsoilers.

I agree too. Subsoiler is really well designed for that single intense "point" load. Box blade shank mounts are not usually that stout, despite the rest of the box being heavy.

That Cat 1 subsoiler from Agri Supply is actually $164.99, and absolutely worth the price!
I have one.....It is a Cat 1 brute!
Shipping to Gig Harbor is likely your pricing problem.
The actual pipelayer attachment can be shipped UPS.
The subsoiler itself cannot be UPS shipped assembled (weight), though disassembly is easy, by removing 2 bolts.
