Why is there not a "Front Differential Lock"

Re: Why is there not a \"Front Differential Lock\"

I noticed that the McCormick sub-compacts (G25 and G30) have something they call a self-locking front differential. Is this something different, like some sort of posi-traction?

Re: Why is there not a \"Front Differential Lock\"

Vehicles with springs really benifit from lockers as they can't evenly distribute their weight evenly like a pivoting front axle on a tractor.

The self locking diff on the Mccormick is likely a limited slip, torsen (trutrac) or maybe an automatic locker. Anyone tried them out?
