Why is "mobile *.*" so much slower and unfriendly than what normal people get to us

I'm referring to TBN in this case, but nearly any website applies. Things load slower, show less, and are consequently much more likely to give that " no service" message.
This especially applies to "apps". I can't count how many places that I used to go to to pay bills online. Yet every time they " improve" they get harder to do business with. For years it had gotten easier and easier to pay bills online... Now I' ve gone back to writing checks.

One of the admin guys posted today that they improved the site and gave a link to the faster one. I'm using it and it does seem to be faster.

I hate mobile versions of sites. I always prefer desktop version cause it has everything, and is what I am used to. Everyone wants you to download their app. I don't want a dang app for every website. Some sites it is hard to revert back to desktop.version. and those always seem to be the sites that the mobile version sucks.
