why I'm sticking with Kubota

Stopped at the New Holland dealer yesterday and told him what I was looking at in a Kubota and asked what they had that was comparable. So he showed me when I got home and started looking over the specs the Kubota loader lifted a good 300# more to full height lifted it about 7" higher and had around 800# more breakout force Also he told me I could not get 3 rear remotes from New holland on a gear drive tractor (only2) If I wanted 3 I would have to get a hydro. Thats all OK because when I sat in it I felt like I was going to fall forward. Not sure how the green models stack up yet but I probably just stay orange.

L4240 and the 45 horse from new holland whatever it was I tossed the brochure already.

I guess I don't see the justification in sticking with Kubota. In fact, I don't see why you need any justification at all. If you like the tractors, can find one that meets your requirements, and the dealer is good to work with those are the real justifications for buying that brand. Me - I have a green tractor because the dealer stocks really nifty kid's toys I can buy for my grandson...

I wasn't bashing the other tractors just sharing the info I found out. I was a little surprised at the capacity difference between the two thats all and I was totally shocked at the fact that I could only get two rear remotes on a gear drive as opposed to three. Thought that kind of info might help others that where considering purchasing a new tractor. If your so happy with your Deere why are you in the Buying/Pricing a Kubota forum? Maybe a little orange Envy? Sorry if anyones feelings where hurt that was not my intension's.

I sell both Orange and Blue. There are different tractors for different needs. There are applications (high visibility) where the New Holland really shines. Kubota does sell more tractor for your dollar, New Holland choose to focus more on creature comforts than high end specs. It all depends on what you valve, choices are competition are good for all of us.

The thing is, you can't compare any two models and assume that this represents the whole brand. There are plenty of NH's, JD's and MF's with better specs than any number of Kubotas. And vice versa. There is a lot more to compare than just the color. There are so many other factors, including price point that you have to look at.

Even within the Kubota brand, specs don't tell the whole story. I have a simple, inexpensive 45hp L4400. I liked the HP spec, but if you compare it to many of the Grand L models, even one's with lower HP, the hydraulics on the 4400 might not be as good.

I'm right there with you in regard to Kubota. I like 'em. But when comparing, make sure you look at all of the specs, including price, before you decide which is best. You also have to factor in your own specific needs and your own budget.

Perhaps you want to look at the next size up New Holland. Often there isn't a direct comparison, for example the L is a little bigger than the TC40, but the TC48 is a little bigger than the L. Kubota's B3030 is a great example, Deere & NH both make machines a little bigger & a little smaller, but none a direct comparison...

Yea thats why I went to the New holland dealer and told him I was looking at the l4240 and what did he have that would be comparable. I wanted to make sure I was comparing apples to apples so I let him recommend the model. I didnt go in there asking for a specific model. And the new NH use some different numbers no longer tc40 type stuff it like 2310 (Those might not be the exact numbers so dont go off on me for misquoting numbers) it's kind of confusing the dealer didnt like it either. But either way it was a 45 horse NH and a 44 Horse Kubota and the prices are about the same. So If I wanted more lifting capacity/height out of the NH its going to put me over the Kubota price point. If they where comparable I would probably try the NH but 300# and 7" between the loaders is nothing to sneeze at and the fact that I cant get a third rear remote on the gear drive kind of seals the deal. Once again not bashing blue or green tractors just sharing info I found out.

Fair enough - sounds like you found the machine best for you. My first tractor was a 2002 TC18 which had features that the similar sized & priced Kubotas didn't have (at that time) like position control. My new tractor is a Kubota B3030 because I wanted more power, but in a <2,000# machine. My dad has a 2004? TC40DA (hydro) great machine. Of course Kubota has updated the L series since then.
