Tractor
Massey Ferguson 1215, Case 801B
Today I justified having multiple tractors while cleaning up the compost pile that I've collected in the old horse corral. Admitedly, my "tractors" are glorified lawn mowers, but the principle is still sound.

I was running my little Massey 1215 with the loader to fill up my hydraulic dump cart. My daughter was running the Toro 266-H garden tractor to pull the dump cart. She'd pull the load out to the pasture and dump it. My son was running the 4-wheeler pulling a log followed by a heavy logging chain. His job was to drive over the piles as many times as he could to level it all out. The 4-wheeler is not a tractor, but if I'd had my Pennsylvania Panzer running better, he'd have been driving it.

I still have another daughter and a wife. I need two more tractors.

My wife (who is reading over my shoulder) even agrees that it's good to have more than one tractor.

You need more children. Then you could buy even more tractors.

If your wife is all for it and you can afford it I say go for it. We are considering a 3rd tractor maybe next year or yet this year. If we can get the work for them we will buy a 3rd tractor.

Any update on the Panzer since you found it? Also, how's the work on the house going?

I have 3 tractors, a BX2660 with a FEL. I use it to do the heavy lifting, snow plowing, bush hog work and run my chipper. I have a Cub Cadet 1210 to do the nasty mowing in the woods and pull my little trailer and I have a Cub 1641 that I bought just because it was too good of a deal to pass up. I use this to mow the lawn only because it cuts better than the 1210.

I just sold one of my collection, the 197x Wheel-Horse C-160 and I would recomend them to anyone!

I cannot imagine being aboe to run a small (much less larger) "farm" with only one tractor. I have one, and no matter how many options I think of, there is no tractor that will do EVERYTHING in one package. Now, if I had a ZTR, then I could get buy with only one Ag tractor - a good reason not to buy a ZTR :)

Well I have two. Can't decide whether to fix the 3 point on the 861 and put it out to my folks for work out there or to sell it and just use the 3038e for everything. If I sold the 861, I'd have more room for other things. Plus selling the 861 Icould maybe net enough to buy a set of pallet forks for the 3038e and a used trailer for hauling it around.

I have two and they like to work as a team....... specially logging and prepping firewood.

Sometimes they both work together and then I hafta let someone else help me........

I would rather not, but I can't figure out how to drive 'em both at once.

The three of us work well together when the little one with the chipper mounted, blows the chips into the FEl of the big man. Or when the big guy wiches in a whole tree, up to the chipper, where me running a saw, limbs and chips the brush, while the big guy waits for a the next 15 foot "pull".

<<<<<========== my "guys".
