Why I hate North Carolina

People drive like crap no matter what state you live in.

That said, I have found that in NC people tend to STOP at a yield sign instead of slowing down or speeding up to merge into traffic.

People drive like crap no matter what state you live in. Not only down there. We have our fair share of idiots up here as well.

That said, I have found that in NC people tend to STOP at a yield sign instead of slowing down or speeding up to merge into traffic. People up here only slow down slow enough so they don't roll the car at stop signs when making turns. Red lights are merely a suggestion, as is the speed limit.

Grew up in Southern Calif......we never had snow days but we had "smog" days. You couldn't go out at recess....you were not allowed to run on the playground.....sports were cancelled.....parents were advised to drive kids to school. We use to call it "chunky" air......I remember not being able to take a deep breath after running around with my buddies. The air was brown......looked like dirty fog. It's much better now.

They are already saying that some schools in Alabama will have a delay opening Friday (1-24-14) morning due to extreme cold weather... No mention of snow

Really?? Southern drivers?? Most of the accidents I see are overly cocky northerners who think they can drive perfect no matter the conditions. Since we have so little snow and ice here there is no reason to have all the equipment necessary up north. Our mild winters are why every Tom, Dick and Harry move here so stop your bitching and just enjoy it.

Totally agree. Them snowbirds are some non drivers.

I'm sure I don't help that much. I love going outside with a fresh 4-6" of snow and sliding around on the back roads just for fun! Always trying to see how long I could keep the truck moving down the road while gassing it to slide sideways! Everyone about loses their mind with the first snowfall of the year because they are pushing their luck with their tires. Once the first couple idiots slide off the road trying to be cheap, everyone gets a little bit smarter.

I lived outside of Watertown and Syracuse on two different occasions. As mentioned, no way am I ever moving back.

As a true NC boy, Born here and will die here. Us locals always wonder why the Yankees come here by the 100,000 per year. Possibly because you could get a job, or pay less in taxes. I have good advice for you. Stop complaining and GO HOME. Back where life is good.
