Maybe some more descriptive information would help. For example, does it bonce when you hit a bump? If so, I'm not surprised, these tractors don't have the same kind of springs that a car does.:)

Jeff,

If this is a periodic motion that occurs when driving on a roadway at about full speed (probably around 10 mph), it is called road lope. This is due to something slightly out-of-round in a tire / wheel / hub assembly. The out-of-roundness causes a once per revolution pulsation to the tractor at or near one of its natural frequencies of vibration (bounce or pitch).

You can watch the front tires as you drive to see if anything is noticable there, but you can't really see the rear tires from the seat.

The simplest solution is to just slow down a little. It will usually go away.

Is it in 4wd when it is bouncing?
I know the IH 986 when I have the grain auger on teh back of it going down the road bounces, but when you have something 60' behind you with it's axle in the middle it is going to happen.

If your rear tires are loaded, your bounce is probably from the fluid. Every tractor I ever had with loaded tires got the "road lope" when moving fast.

Do you have bias tires on the rear? If so does this bounce occur when you first start up and then take off down the road? Bias tires will form flat spots more or less when parked and if it is cool out the flat spots will stay longer until the tires heat up from driving down the road. My 7710 has this problem, but the 8210 had radials and didn't have this problem.

If this is the problem then like the other poster said, slow down for a while and slowly pick up speed as the tires warm up.

My 4010 bounces in Hi gear when it's cold and when turning very slowly. Is this what yours is doing? Mine has about 230 hours on it. It doesn't bounce once it warms up. I usually notice it when cold, slide the selector to Low or straighten the front wheels more.

if you are in 4wd, check your tire pressures: Could be that the front axle is running a different ground speed than the rear. Sometimes a dealer even will swap tires between models and the tires are actually mismatch for SLR. This will shown up on concrete as rubber marks or scrubbed dirt on a gravel road.
