Two of my local JD dealers are very reluctant to issue (request) case numbers on problems I found in the online JD parts system. In researching the pns for mating connectors I have come across missing PNs and wrong PNs on the WEB site.

My first attempt to notify JD was via their Corporate point of contacts via email. They referred me to "your local dealer".

Contacted both local dealers and both concured with my findings. They were at a loss as well. When I asked about contacting JD Engineering to seek an answer, they both referenced a "case #" process yet both held the ground on not issuing a case #. Reading between the lines indicated it is not worth their time since many cases remain unanswered!

Is this typical for other JD dealers or did I just have a bad day and contacted the wrong persons within the dealerships?

Sorry, I don't do a lot of parts work here, but I do see
a form that can be filled out to report part # errors. Whether or not they get answered timely I can't say. I do know the parts guys have called experts and researched different parts, in order to maybe get dimensions, or specs etc. Those specialists are able to refer to the CAD drawings for each part.
Are you referring to a problem that stems with a wiring harness a few weeks ago?

I figured the dealer would have an unpublished hotline to ask these types of questions directly with Engineering.

Actually I feel the problem is quite simple to solve .

I'm trying to find the part number for the connector that is installed on the external regulator, pn AM126304. (sn > 40001) for my X595.

This is a plastic connector housing worth maybe $2.00. Just poking around the database I found two pns that might work (based on the pn of the mating connector on the main harness) and ordered them. They were no where close to what I'm looking for..... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

WEB site only shows the entire regulator assy for $80+.

Here are some pics of the connector..
and you're right, they only show it as part
of the regulator... but older pictures showed
it without a pigtail....

It looks to me that JD is trying to really NAIL us owners on parts. The starter on my 4700 with 2600 hrs was giving me problems so I took it to the local starter shop, they said it needed a clutch kit, I said ok do it, they said well It's a dealer item only but if you get it we will install it. So I said great, I drove off to the dealer to order the clutch kit, The parts guy said yup, $315 plus shipping please, I said WHAT for a clutch kit, I can buy a starter for my pickup for less than that, WELL he said that starter comes in three parts and each of them are over $300. OR you can buy the starter for $600. altogether including shipping and tax, Well I said ok I'll take the new starter and forked out $600. WELLLL, I found out later after some research that I could have got the clutch kit delivered to my home for $107. AND I could have bought the hole starter for $235 not including shipping.

Thanks dutch445, This is the connector that I'm looking for. Seems unusual that one would have to replace the entire regulator if the connector were to go bad!
