Why did you buy LS?

/ Why did you buy LS? #21
Much the same reasons here. The other big dealers were mediocre, and one was abysmal.

Nothing could match the specifications I wanted for FEL and 3PH capacity that would fit into my detached garage (93" clearance) or my wallet. The Kubota dealer wanted $300 for service pick ups and warranty work...the LS dealer who was 8 miles further away said "no charge...ever".

My dealer gave me a number I can reach him at 24/7. He said he will open to get me spares and even oil or filter if I needed something in a hurry, but I have not needed to try that promise out as the machine has been trouble free except for the first regen. Dealer came in after hours (9:00 PM) and did a forced regen at no charge.

I had a logger run my machine when we were going food plots this fall and he was impressed with it. He has spent more time on equipment than I ever will.

I had a John Deere and wanted to upgrade. It was $50k minimum to get what I wanted from John Deere. I looked at New Holland which was $40k. Then found the LS was pretty much the same machine for $27k. I have had issues with mine, but I would buy another one if I needed.

What kind of issues have you had?

/ Why did you buy LS? #24
The 1st issue I had within the 1st year was the hydraulic fluid cooler cracked on me and spewed fluid everywhere. I had to drag it out of my pasture to get it fixed.
I had a PTO sensor go out.
Then I had fuel sensor issues that had to be replaced.
My 4x4 lever on the floor broke off.
My A/C clutch has worked on and off again for the last year.

That is all I can think of right now. My dealer has been great. If I had a dealer like I hear horror stories about I probably would not have an LS. The dealer seems to make all the difference.

OH! I subed to your channel. I'll take a look at your videos in a bit. Sucks you have had such troubles with yours. I've had my own issues, but nothing too serious, and mostly my fault. :D

Thanks. I subbed your channel too. Great vids. I like the LS, and I do run it harder maybe than most. I just figure I do somewhat get what I pay for. I am sure a $50k John Deere like this LS would hold up better, but its almost twice as much. I am sure glad I did not buy a New Holland for almost $15k more because I am sure it would run the same. My LS dealer would be the reason I would buy another. I just wish they were closer to me.

Not so sure about John Deere. We had a 40hp
several years ago and I hit a bump with a half bucket of dirt and snapped both up hydraulic cylinder shafts. That was a spendy day...$1300. They were about an inch in diameter.

So far I would definitely buy it again, I think I would have liked to have the 40hp larger framed tractor.

/ Why did you buy LS? #30
I bought mine because I could get a 40-hp tractor with a loader for less than what John Deere wanted for a 1025R. I know there are probably better quality machines out there with higher capacities or more features than mine, but the balance of those things against price made it a no-brainer.

I didn't go LS but they were in the running if I went subcompact. The little MT seems like a good little tractor and has a good price on it. I didn't like the XJ at all, so I went a different route. I've seen plenty of vids online including yours. They do help to a point but you really need to get your butt in the seat and try them out.

I think that right there says it all no matter the brand.

What kinda issues? I remember your fuel fitting trouble you had.

Wanted to add:

I think that LS is positioned to be the new Kubota. Every dealer seems to be decent. They offers a good tractor at below market price. Think about how Kubota changed the compact tractor market decades ago.

That will play into resale value 10-15 years from now. Watch for above average price increases on LS as they grow market share.

Besides the steering issue and breaking the upper control arm (again, my fault), nothing serious. The fuel line issue that required the dealer service call to help me find and fix (branch or something ripped a small hole in fuel line next to the tank that sucked air but did not drip.) I bent the FEL loader indicator, bent the curl arm things (future video), ummm... lost a few wheel bolts, loader joystick needed re-adjusting (started to slip)... ummm.... the hood latch lost two screws that mount it to the hood, it wouldnt latch....

Simple things. Nothing to complain about. The loader arms, again, my fault, are in an upcoming video. I bent them while using the tine bucket moving brush. Really doesnt hurt anything to leave them, but it will make an interesting video fixing them. Just havent done it yet. I point it out in the video that is being edited right now.

Gotcha. Now that you mention it I do remember your video on the control arm.

I bought an LS based on capability first then price. If it were only able to lift as much or as powerful as similar sized tractor I'm not sure I would have bought it. Being I'm getting a lot more bang for the buck I would hands down buy another.

I like this. I guess I did the same without putting those words to it. There's a post on this site where a guy found a Kubota L2501 with 100 hours with a grader blade for $16,500, and everyone said that was a good deal, which it may be. But, I got an LS G3038 with 130 hours and a 5 ft Howse rotary cutter for $12,500. 13 more hp, a more expensive implement, and more loader lift capacity for $4k less money? Yes please.

Yeah the green tractor guy quoted me $32,000 for a 3032e TLB (bare bones) 31hp tractor bought my mt235e for $23,736 with 1 remote with detent, bucket level indicator 4 more hp, higher 3 point and loader lift capacity. All in all, better tractor and for a lot better money.

Well my opinion LS definitely has the best deals out there on some very impressive tractors . My XR4155 cost about $15,000 less than a similar John Deere and if you want to add anything extra to a Deere the price really goes crazy . I do think John Deere has the best cabs in the business. Will be interesting to see what I think after owning it a couple years but right now I’m very impressed with LS and the dealer I bought it from. Seems like all the manufacturers have pretty much the same warranty, and I know from experience a good responsible dealer is very important when it comes to warranty stuff.

sold an old Kubota L295DT, sat in a new Kabota, JD, MF, Mahindra, NH and LS. The NH dealer only had larger tractors, the LS fit me the best of all the ones I tried.
