Curious, what's the purpose of a grease point in the middle of the boom?

The one circle in red has no cylinder attached to it, it's in the middle of the boom. The boom cylinder attaches to the top and bottom of boom. The pivot points are there too. What's in the middle of the boom. I have no way to look inside.

To help the pins from wearing out so you have movement friction
and need grease
