I'm about to convert a Peltor Worktunes to a proper radio but am unsure why there are 3 leads to the speaker.

I did the same conversion to an old Worktunes manual tuning radio a year or two ago, there were only two leads on that - simple.
Doesn't look all that classy, it's strapped to a piece of flattened PVC and mounted on a rustable hinge, to allow the battery to be changed and for better AM reception - it can be rotated 90deg.

This time I'll be using this old Sony digital tuning radio, I recently broke the belt clip.

This times yellow Woktunes had a major problem - I bought it on Ebay from the US and it has 10kHz AM steps and Australia's steps are 9kHz, also (and it may be to do with using 1.2V rechargables) it was always warning of flat batteries and in later weeks not even switching on.

So how do I connect the two leads (OK 3 with the stereo for each side) from the Sony earpiece jack to the 3 leads on the Worktunes speakers?

Any advice greatly appreciated - failing that it'll be trial and error!

Does the yellow speaker have more than one cone?

Does the yellow WT have a jack for external input from an MP3 player.

Sorry, can't seem to remove the grille from the speaker.

The user manual doesn't make mention of anything like that in the "features" list although it does talk about "noise suppressed stereo sound..." - but that may only be referring to the ear muff part of it.

Yes, it does.

What are you thinking? I'd have assumed that input would simply replace the tuner output.

If you have the radio turned on and an MP3 player hooked up, you actually here sound from both. I just need to find my Work Tunes. They aren't on the tractor where I usually keep them.
