Re: Who\'s having trouble getting off road diesel ?
As in recently or just getting it at all? My local fuel depot will allow me to buy any quantity and pay for it with cash or credit card so long as I am filling a tank or barrel. Savingas are 40 cents per gallon over the cheapest on-road diesel in the area. They do not allow the use of buckets or jerry cans. I filled two barrels laying on their sides with 25 gallons each through the high speed nozzle. I did this about a month ago.
I saved .4$ * 50 gallons for 20 bucks. I got both barrels for free from the JD dealer. And I bought the 11$ harbor freight rotary pump and about 5$ worth of clear vinyl tubing. I am already money ahead. Add to that the value of always having ample fuel on hand and I am very happy with my fuel strategy. Also, fuel has risen 30 more cents per gallon since I bought the 50 gallons so by buying bulk I am sheltered from that increase until I use it up.
