Who washes and waxes their Deere?

I wash my tractor, and wax it regularly. My tractor today is cleaner and looks better than it did when it came into the dealer. I have experimented with different tire preps, etc. to achieve maximum shine. This is not to say I do not use my tractor; it is used plenty, but I keep it inside and keep it looking sharp. After all, it is one of the most expensive things I own. I even had my car wash guy detail it once before the Christmas parade, because it was cold and I wanted to look good pulling Santa around Main Street.

I am with Hillbilly on this. I only wash my tools to the extent necessary for them to work properly, or to keep an area of a machine clean where I am doing maintenance or a repair.

Wash after every use, wax semi-annually, and service religiously. Looks and runs new.

I had my new 2320 delivered to my future father-in-law's house and when I went to pick it up he had waxed the entire thing real good. I plan on keeping up that trend just making sure that it gets sprayed off real good after each use. It seems that the time you leave the grass there to dry it takes an act of God to get it off. Same goes for pretty much all of my tools. Once the house is done and I have a garage again this will make things much easier.

I spray it off with water after most work. When I'm washing the Explorer or Ranger, I'll wash the 790 too...sometimes (if it's out, definitely...if it's in the garage, maybe)
I've never waxed it...

I blow off the clippings/dust, wash, and wax my tractor regularly. People who see it wonder if I ever use it!

I wash my 4210 4 or 5 times a year and wax 1 time every year. I bought it new in 2002 and it still looks close to new. I haven't been able to get my collie to lay across the platform yet. Nice looking tractor and dog.

Waxing long term might not be so good for the long haul. Wax is like a candle when it gets hot, it basically melts. Not the best thing for a tractor that runs in the hot weather and gets really hot. Over time and over build up of wax could ruin the finish. A nice polish with a polisher, once per year will be much better and less effort.

Waxing is more suitable for show cars or show type of items. I admit it does give a great look, but a normal wash and dry is just as good, if not better.

Either way nothing wrong with pride of ownership

I do! So shoot me. After each mow around the yard the little 2210 gets rinsed, occasionally soaped, toweled off. About once a month it gets a full blown soap and water scrub. a couple times a year a little wax on the hood.
A side note, in storage last winter the hood received some deep scratches.. and while cleaning up some branches with the FEL after a recent wind storm a small log flipped onto the hood leaving a small dent... I may need therapy....
