Yeah, that and get Teamviewer loaded and running and can tell you the logon and password...:) Sometimes a bit of a challenge.

Learn that DC systems are easier to diagnose than A/C systems, but they are still hard!

Learn to set your VOM CORRECTLY! AC is NOT DC, Ohms are NOT Volts, Volts are NOT Amps, And Mega Ohms are NOT milli Ohms.

I'd argue that there are about twice as many registered automobiles in the U.S. as there are housing units. I'd guess that there are at least, as if not more, DC A/C systems than AC A/C systems. Haven't considered commercial units, though. ;)

You could throw in that the vehicle compressors are usually [ with some vehicles going to 40 volt systems ] engine driven by a pulley whilst the blower is DC.... which totally confuses the issue. [ you are welcome ] :) I like some of the AC/DC songs, too ... not all of them though. Their lead geetar player is really good...

AC systems get really interesting when we increase the AC frequency. We call it RF :)

DC is pretty nasty stuff, too. We used to have a lot of big engine block and head broaches that were DC. You get DC flowing and she does not like stopping. We used to have big arc arrestors around the big DC contactors. Really flash when you opened up the contacts. [ like big DC welders :) ]

Thanks Radios. But it didn't have a transformer. I had no schematics and traced the Gates of both of the SCRs to the defective TO92 Package Silicone transistor via a series diode.
I don't like that kind of design, you'd have to have the cathode of the SCR connected to the logic board with that kind of setup. a potential for disaster..

today, the T.D.R. is used.. it will even tell you the distance to a fault in the coax..
