Currently working on clearing out my just under 10 acre lot. Had about 2 acres professionally cleared by a friend and the stumps pulled out of the ground. Mix of hardwood (oak, maple, black birch) and pine; some of them had trunks of about 2-3 feet. Currently they're all in an ugly pile and in the way.

I figure there are 4 scenarios going forward.

1. I move em to the perimeter and let them rot.

ii. I pay someone big bucks to remove them from the property.

C. I spend multiple months reducing them to ashes.

IV. Someone out there who is a wood worker comes and saves the stumps to turn them into furniture. I can load........

Set them by the road, with a sign:

Landscaping art
$50 each.

They will disappear. :)

Might as well bite the bullet and hire to haul away if not eye sore.

If you have any slope to your property, you could use them to slow water or start a berm. We have been doing a lot of that on sloping land and mix dirt and mulch over the stumps to give grasses and wildflowers a place to start. Over time, the berms catch soil and sediment and the ground starts to naturally level out a little or it can become a place to catch runoff/sediment that you can scoop and move back up a hill.

Dig largish slit trench, roll stumps off into it, add air curtain (store bought or home cobbled up), reduce stumps to ashes much quicker:)

There is option 5... Go on a Blacksmithing Forum, mention you have some tree stumps available.
Any smithy looking for a stump to place their anvil on or attach there floor vice to will jump for joy.
there has to be som blacksmiths in your area.

If you were near me I would be running to your place for a piece of the maple or black birch.
It would to bad to throw them out if someone can use them.

Why not just bury them if no one wants them? A Deephole straight down in an out-of-the-way place on your property.
