I installed my last (for the year) accessories and stored the bike for the winter, I got the throttle lock, chain guide, tank pad, rear rack and exhausts. I am very please with the power differences given from the exhaust swap and the sound simply amazing😁🤗🫠. Beside that I adjusted the suspension and I am very please with that as well. Ready for summer.

Haven't quite put the old yz away. Bought a new rear knobby for it a couple months back and finally put it on tonight.
The last new rear tire was a 150/80 -18.
Apparently they quit making that size in knobbies so just went back to a stock size 5.10 -18 in an IRC Vulcanduro. Also bought a used head and did the anti ping "squish" mod that was common on the 490's so going to swap that soon as well.

Quite impressed with the number of offroad and dual sport riders here....but not really surprised. In my youth I was partner at a Kaw/NVT dealership/race shop. We also imported Jawa ISO speedway bikes and Sprite motocrossers, so dirt (and cinder) thoroughly ground into my blood (through elbows and knees mostly). I largely gave up on road bikes 40 years ago - same time my wife parked her TY175 to become full time Mom. Still have a fair number of bikes (pair of Kaw 1000 baggers I might ride some day) but wife still has her Honda Cub (untouched since new) and I have my last ice racer (Yam 500TT). Switched to dual sport with a KLR650 (now 703) 20 years ago, and found a test bed KLR727 that was built in early '90s to prove out an alternative engine for "sound of singles" road racing. Have a KL250G for technical trails and find it a great way to ride on the street without collecting tickets (that the KLRs do so well).

Only one more bike on my wish/want/need list is a Norvin. If I can ever afford and find one, or might have to build from an Interstate + engine that might be Vincent...but remote possibility I can score a Weslake (have inside track there).

Tractor sitting here in full winter removal gear, 50F and no snow in sight. So I said to myself, if it is not going to be winter, lets pretend it isn't. So I took my old -83 Honda XL600 out of winter sleep and took it for a parts run for one of my vehicles. It was so happy to start it fired up on one of my prime the engine slow kick starts. :)

I have been involved in flat track for a long time. And my building bikes/engines started with this engine.

It was raced by a friend. He took a chance on me helping him no one else wanted to deal with his temper. It was well known. Somehow, I survived.

Dan got his transfer points racing, and the Bul was forgotten. After he passed way too young (RIP Dan), I ended up with the bike in pieces. The frame is already done, now the engine is ready to go back into the frame for the first time in 40+ years.

Champion frame, 350cc Bultaco Astro motor. Not the better known 360, this is the earlier engine. And it has a bunch of NOS parts in it.

Looking forward to getting this one done

I built a Doug Schwerma , Champion framed Yamaha DT-2 powered short track bike in the very early 70's. Koni rear dampers, Betor front forks, Barns spools, spokes by Buchanan and Akront wheels, With a low pipe that just flat PULLED power. Lots of wins on that one. ;-)
We ran indoors all winter at the fairgrounds in beautiful West Fargo ND.

I can't even recall who I sold it to....... dang ..the years go by.

Those were some great bikes...extremely dependable. Mine was only a 500 but I put thousands of miles on it in some of the most remote terrain...here's a shot I took 40 years ago along the White Rim Trail in Utah:
