Who rides motorcycles?

If I rode over 50% off road I'd go with street legal knobbies and just plan on replacing the rear every couple thousand miles or so. That's what I do with my XT250.
For my Tenere 700 I use 80/20 street/off road because I ride it on-road only. The reason I don't go with 100% street tires is because I'm on dirt/gravel roads about 1/2 the time.

I keep 100% road, sport touring tires on my adventure bike. I do the occasional gravel, and have found that I am not missing anything offroad that the 80/20-90/10 has to offer. But, the sport touring tires are much better on the road than the road oriented dual sport tires.

On my KLX dual sport I keep street legal knobbies like Milo does.

Speaking of adventure bike, I am looking at my next set of tires for mine, I do mostly dirt road and the occasionally complete off road, I am thinking l want something around 75 off road / 25 on road. But when I will go crazy and push to the limit of the bike it will be off road, so I am debating about the Motoz Tractionator adventure, rallZ or even the desert for the back...I know the desert is a 100% offroad tire and is pretty loud, up front I am pretty set with the Motorz dual venture. Will I regret if I go with the desert, should I simply go with the Rallz front and back, What you guys think ?
I highly recommend the Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires, they are 50-50 tires that wear very well. Front and rear set for my Super Tenere cost $386 last January. Many riders are claiming to be getting over 20,000 miles per set. Mine currently have over 12,000 miles and here are a couple pictures.

Wow, good reports from the Tenere bunch. I didn't realize there were 3 of you, 4 counting the super sized 1200.

This CP 2 engine has cross plane crank technology and pumps out well over 60 hp, closer to 65 in some models at the rear wheel. They have come a long way from my '78 650 Special, which may have had 25-30 hp guessing.

Here's the flat track bike with the CP 2 engine.

Cycledude, that front tread pattern just looks weird, maybe even showing more wear than the rear???

I have had good experience with Avon Dirtriders on my Tiger. Good road tires, awesome gravel tires. Sadly, they are getting hard to acquire

Kyle the front tire does have a few hundred miles more than the rear tire, it will be interesting to see what they both look like later in life.

well rain and snow in the forecast all next week (off for two weeks) … lots of parts are coming in as well, I was hoping to get a few miles in to make my first oil change worth it… it will be harder to accomplish hopefully i will be able to make it out.
