I love all motorcycles! Here's my previous stable:
1988 GoldWing GL1500
1994 Harley FLHTC (ex-cop bike)
1999 Harley FLHTCUi (fuel injected Ultra Classic)
1982 SilverWing GL500 (restored myself)
2001 GoldWing GL1800
I gave my last bike, the '99 Harley to my son after the Doc remanded me off of bikes due to blood thinners required. He still rides it on occasion. My spouse still has her Harley FLHTCUi but doesn't ride it since I no longer can. Even so, she keeps it insured and tagged... just in case
Even today, even me being 'an 82 y/o I still have to stop and admire and/all bikes. Once it's in your blood, it's always in your blood.

Should be picking up one of my old bikes shortly. I had 2 other identical bikes for a while.
I bought it for my brother because it was a good deal and he was dirt-bike less at the time and he had raced motocross when we were in our teens.
Sadly he passed right before New years. My nephew offered it back to me so should be picking it up soon .
Going to need fuel system cleaned out, carb rebuilt and some other work I am sure.
Should be neat to have my favorite model dirt bike from back in the day and get it running again in honor of him and also to keep it in the family.
It has been sitting and hasn't run for more than 30 years. I always liked riding the open class bikes, My brother actually much preferred the YZ 250's and put lots of hours on them. later he bought a Harley and really enjoyed it.

Liquid Cooling - we don't need No stinking liquid cooling.

Nice that you're getting one of your old bikes back, but the circumstance is unfortunate. It'll be a nice tribute to your brother when you get it up and running.

I hope so, nephew and I still planning a second trip on the street legal bikes and visit and spread ashes at some of his favorite places. I will be riding the z900rs and nephew just picked up a KTM 1290 Adventure.
I told him don't take us to far off hiway, those Road 5's are not real good in gravel...

You were probably joking, but it's funny how Can/USA folks consider anything less than a Litre to be "small"...... I was forever cured of that view, after reading a verryyy long thread on ADV about a Korean guy who toured the USA on a Honda Fiddy...... truly, an Epic Tale.....
