Who Plays Pickleball?

There is a huge Pickleball event at my wife’s place this weekend.

It’s a National event and they will convert the 18 tennis courts into 36 Pickleball courts. They rented the entire facility from this Wednesday thru Sunday.

Over 800 players (plus friend/family) will be attending from all over the US.

It’s a big deal and they seem to have lots of money to spend.

We ordered 50 cases of beer and 50 cases of soda and water. We are told Pickleball folks like their beer!

I’m not all that up to speed on Pickleball.

Anyone play? Anyone coming to St. Louis to go to the event?

You meet lots of girls playing pickle ball. Lots.

First I have heard of pickle ball. Seems interesting.

Getting quite popular - especially with former tennis players.

Courts popping up in almost all parks.

We built a pickle ball court when the kids were in high school - hoping it would encourage their friends to gather here instead of wherever else. It did work somewhat. We still play but not often enough. It is a great game for us older folks (77) - not so much running. When we do play we mostly volley.

When we were looking at +55 communities for winter almost all had 8 pb courts and 2 tennis courts.
