Its model 45-0547 with the exposed metal gears..

I've researched and researched and without spending 2x the money for my limited use, it looks like its my best choice.

If you own it, have you been happy with it?

Any issues?

Other suggestions in that less than $300 ??

Suggestions for use? I know someone recommended spraying down the gears with Fluid Film after each use to help keep rusting/corrosion away

thanks

Brian

Let me add -

Can you regulate the flow of material well? I haven't found any up close pics of the 'valve' and how you set the flow rate

I have a push Earthway spreader that has been great but im tired of pushing, especially for lime that I need a lot of

That’s similar to the one I have had for over 10 years. Mine has the exposed gears, but the large one is cast and the model you posted might be stamped. I spread 1000 pounds of fertilizer every year. I’ve spread many hundred pounds of grass seed too. I spray it with water thoroughly after each use, and hit all metal tubing and hardware with fluid film before storing. It’s getting a little rusty and worn now but has served me well. Adjustment is a plastic sliding door like most but it works fine. I’ll look for a similar replacement when it breaks down.

I had a smaller Agri Fab unit and it worked ok. You pretty much get what you pay for. Don't abuse it (pull it fast over rough terrain), don't fill it to max capacity and it should last a long time if you pull it over smooth ground. Do as Mr. Ford850 states and wash thoroughly and spray it down with light oil after use and you should get good value.

I looked up my original papers and compared some more. Mine has a smaller tub on top, probably rated to hold 100lbs, but otherwise it is almost identical. I bought it in 2006 for $149.
