Tractor
Only a YM14 MkII
My tongue is firmly planted in my cheek with this comment  my next tractor will definately be a 4WD. my poor girl is always punching well above her weight but always comes out on top. over the ast few days i have moved 10cm3 of rock and installed my water tanks to connect to our new house, but the ground is so soft and sloppy but as always she pulls one out of the hat and does the job. what great little work horses they are. i am certain if it was a machine starting with a K or a J i would have killed it by now.........

Very nice job ..and the tanks stayed clean. Yanmar is the BOMB!

Should have put the other tank in the loader bucket to even out your load a bit:laughing:. Very cool, I think I would have been tempted to bring in a bigger machine, but I've moved some crazy stuff with the forks at times. 3 door commercial fridge and walk in cooler box come to mind. Very satisfying. BTW, we would say that little tractor would dig it's way to China, where do Austrailian tractors dig to?

Reminds me of the Foster's beer commercials: " How to speak Austrailian...heavy equipment."

I couldn't agree more. My 2310 has surprised me with what it has been able to get itself out of without much fuss. Having had a 9N in the past I was a little apprehensive about 2 wheel drive and the terrain I intended to use it on. The balance point of the tractor seems to be right over the drive wheels particularly when helped out with 525 lbs of cutter. I don't have a loader but so far I haven't regretted going with 2 wheel drive

I would love to own a 4wd tractor some day too. Would need more land though... :)

:p

:p
FWA (Front wheel assist) may not get used daily, but it sure is worth having.

Thanks for the Pics. How many hours on the Yanmar??

4WD? Who needs that? :D

Long ago I posted about my water tank delivery. The delivery guy didn't back in as I had requested. Then he couldn't turn around after he unloaded.

Bozo's trailer was so heavy that my backhoe curl was the only pull that could drag his trailer uphill. 4WD wouldn't have helped, with my front wheels off the ground.

Kinda looks like an ant trying to move an elephant. But it looks like the ant won!
I have my first 4WD tractor and I can assure you the next one will be as well. It just makes life easier.

Good job!

Some say you just get stuck further in with a 4 wheel drive but on the type of ground I own I just cannot do without it. It is on both my tractors, my mule 2510, my ATV and truck. I have at times taken it out of the front assist and I have gotten hung up. Put it back in 4 wheel and the problem corrected generally.
I have ravines and hills over 85 feet high and other soft ground. Even with that I have at times gotten hung up, then it just took a bigger 4wd and a long chain to get me out.

Sure, you can get stuck with anything. I have seen full sized tracked CATS get bogged down and stuck. I have seen film of Sherman and Panzer tanks stuck in muddy fields.

You certainly can get stuck with a 4 wheel drive tractor. You just have to work much harder to do it.

When I've gotten my 4wd tractor stuck, I didn't think I was working hard at all at it.

a couple weeks ago I done some work for a man who had gotten free dirt,
all he had to pay for was delivery, the dirt came from the bottom of a pond 3/4 mile away, many piles all about his back yard, he called me to come spread it for him, when I got there I wasn't aware of it being delivered 2 days prier, The outside layer of the piles had dried but once getting deeper into the pile it was wet muck, it took me about 3 times as long to spread and got stuck several times due to the mud packing in the tires, But as long as I have a FEL no way going to be stuck for good:thumbsup: so No! I don't need no 4x4:p yes sometime would be nice but not an absolute must;)

When i was in the market for my Yanmar 4wd was a must. Have not once got it stuck. 4wd is worth it's weight in gold, especially when I plow snow, scrape mud, or grade the driveway. :D And you gotta admit, the R1s out front make it look so much cooler, even you 2wd guys think so.:p;)

when i was putting the rock into the boxing the front wheels were 6 or more inches below the top surface just before i got to it so it was plowing trying to get forward. luckily i found that 30 house bricks in the carryall was the perfect weight over the rear to do the job, and yes California i used the curl many times to reverse her out:laughing:
