Who makes John Deere Synthetic Oil?

Back 15 years ago when I bought the 790, between me and the Deere dealer Looking were pretty sure we had the manufacture pinned down to chevron for deere' branded oils....

Like Egon says: low bidder gets it. Could be Chevron or some other low bidder.

Nice to see that 540 RAT agrees with me, e.g. recommends something like 5w30 rather than some 15w40 goo.

It depends right? Certifications matter and I always wonder what test he is specifically doing to base those recommendations.
FWIW I have engines that I use 0w-20 in and I have some I use 0/15w-40 in. You can't just say one grade is better or worse than another as the additive pack is probably as or more important.
.
Certifications matter

For example this oil is 5w-30, would you use it in your engine?

I hope not.

BTW I know Chevron has blended JD oil and also Exxon-Mobil but bottom line any competent blender can make it based on JD specs and add packs. So functionally it should not matter who makes it as long as it meets JD specs.

A. It's the one of the worst websites I have ever looked at.
B. All I can find are his results. I can't find how he does his tests and what equipment he uses. I see that he does "friction tests" but doesn't say how.
C. He seems to be focused on one issue as far as I can tell. According to him half the cars on the road should be dead by now. Not buying his conclusions.
Edit to sound less snarky:
I was hoping, because you seem to read it, that perhaps you could distill some of it down for us, I have only read a very small portion.

Bottom line I think oil has to do more than fight friction. Deposit control, sludge/varnish control, neutralize acid from combustion and these days prevent LSPI. Other things I'm sure I missed. 5w30 is not always the answer as well, 0w20 works and so does 0/15w-40. Certs matter and use the oil the engine engineers recommend. My 2$ (inflation)
