Me, neither. Every time I see a Rolls Royce, I'm reminded of a car dealer called Overseas Motors that used to be in Dallas. They sold Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Austin Healey, MG, etc., right on down to the showroom new 1962 Austin Healey Sprite that I bought for $2,200. Now I know that Rolls Royce builds fine automobiles, but every time I was around that dealership, I was surprised to see Rolls Royce and Bentley cars in the shop for the same little problems you expect with a Ford or Chevy.



Good timing.:laughing: The Dallas Morning News has recently been running photos of expensive homes in the area; some for sale, some not. I've seen prices from $1.2 million to $9 million. And I haven't seen a single one that I would want to have to live in if they gave it to me.

I have an acquaintance who bought an 80's something Rolls at auction for less than $20k...it had a shock that leaked oil; turns out it was gonna cost something like $1500 to get the shock replaced...it was part of a hydraulic system containing expensive mineral oil, the mechanic had to be called out of Tulsa, etc. etc.

You really know how to hurt a guy...you're talking about a magazine centerfold! I love my '59; I think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

Please spare me from the pictures. My neighbor owned a '59 Chevy and I always hated those fins. After I joined the US Navy, my dad bought the car from her, and I had to see it for many more years. I can't put my finger on it as to why, but despite the similarities, I really like the fin design of the '60 model. It was truly a love-hate relationship with me and Chevy during the late '50s and early '60s. I liked the '55-'57 and hated the '58-'59. I liked the '60, but hated the '61. "62 was okay, but '63 was one of my favorites, then hated the '64. About that time I started liking Chevelles and never cared much for the bigger Chevy models.:confused3:

Your likes pretty much coincide with mine at that time, although I have come to appreciate all of them. My guess is that you had a 4 door Biscayne...UGLY! I have a white, 2dr hdtp with a red interior, WWW tires. I also have a 60 Impala, similar but copper in color.

No, it was a 2-dr hardtop, Bel-Air, 2-tone silver/white . The silver paint was the kind that got dull in about 3 years. Only the top was white and the rest was dull silver. Even so, some would say that it looked a whole lot better than my '58 Plymouth Belvedere.

Nobody made fins like Caddy :laughing: I loved those old cars Oldsmobiles Buicks Chevys they all looked like they were supposed to fly I miss the days of CHROME and wild sheetmetal!
