Oh Tres, you are good. I did not actually do it but I do have some Arizona License plates on it that look real strange in the North East!

I guess I have not heard of any fuel tanks blowing up yet on any of the makes out there.

Guess when I bought my tractor, I liked the looks of the NH and liked the color, it had all of the features that I felt that I needed at the time, except for the folding rops and the fact that a grapple could not be put on it, but thanks to this forum, I have figured out how to do it with adding a rear remote.

A lot of sales could be due to the fact of the dealer network being more aggressive and also the pricing structure. I do not think that any of the major tractor lines out there have major quality problems, the chineese tractors will even improve over time if they want a larger share of the US market.

It could also be that JD and NH are concentrating more on their ag lines than the compact markets.

Lots of variables in the mix.

To each, his own.

However I prefer to grow vegetables not drive a tractor the color of one. Had to get a dig in for my brand./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Dubdog, good points all seriousness aside, the amount of sales does not reall ymean much as most brands are actually pretty good, well at least the big 3 are pretty good. My favorite colot is blue but I picked a Deere over Orange and it has been an excellent pick, now if I can get a reasonable price on my implements that I want (middle buster/subsoiler <$150, Spreader <$400), at a dealer close enough to my location (within 20 miles, no luck yet), I would be happy.

At least you knew what he was talking about...He didn't make any sense to me at all.

I don't own a NH but I do own a JD and Kubota.
I can tell you I was at the NH dealer today and I may as well have been at a mechanical engineering fair.
Gorgeous machines! Felt like a Jaguar!
Too bad I can't afford everything!

Your profile does not indicate where you are from, but TSC has the middle buster for less than $150, add the subsoiler attachment for a few bucks more.

The Pinto comment is not completely accurate, you see, many people, like me when I was young and needed a "new" car for school bought "Amurican" Pintos and Vegas--those two vehicles more than any other similar types are the reason Toyota is now the number 3 auto manufacturer in this country. That series of crapmobiles lost most of an entire generation from GM and Ford and to Toyota/Honda. These people, like me, would never even consider a domestic car from GM or Ford--in fact--to me they are foreign (to me). Why would I buy their stuff when Toyota, Honda etc have served us so well? This thinking, unfortuantely, carries over into most other consumer spending also which includes tractors. I fear your analysis is incorrect, sales volume does reflect customer satisfaction--if only indirectly. Rationalizing something is easy to do when the facts don't agree with one's preconcieved notions. Fortunately for us tractor folks JohnDeere seems to have more honor in their pinky finger than GM could have ever had in it's entireity. Why buying a Green Japanese tractor is better than buying an Orange one though does elude me. I have noticed younger people are not nearly so anti GM (and by association other American brands) as was my generation. Yeah, I know there is the Chebby crowd etc even among those who came up in my time but they are fewer and farther between than in generations before when everyone had a Oldsmobile or Ford and a JohnDeere tractor even. Hell, look here, I am still trying to come to grips with my wifes new Jeep Liberty that she bought. It is like haveing some kinda strange alien device in my garage. I just look at it and try to figure what was that woman thinking but then I drive in it --twice in more than a year--and realize it is not such a bad car--it has only refused to start 3 times, needed a new battery once, an alternator and belt and it sounds funny--kinda like blaaaaaaaaaaaaaa---blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa--blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa when you rev the engine such as it is. Was at the Toyota web site--the new FourRunner if she could have waited would have been my choice. J
