I am very curious about people's experiences with the BXPANDED bucket expander. So, if anyone has bought and used one, I'd very much appreciate hearing what your experience has been. How well does it work? How tough is it? Have you had any problems with wear, bending or warping? And how about the bolts that hold it on - do they get damaged after a while?

Any comments at all would be much appreciated.:)

check- have you talked with harry from bxpanded yet on that ? he is a member here too so he probably could answer half of your questions. However I know what you mean- it would be nice to hear the end user opinions on harrys stuff.

I have been in correspondence with Harry, and seen his videos, but I did want to get customer feedback. It seems that there's no one on these forums who has bought one, which is a bit surprising to me.

Just Installed a BX Bucket Expander on my new BX2660. It is true that the Chain hooks by BX won't fit when the expander is installed. I think the expander will be fine as long as it is not used to lift excessive loads or pry rocks, etc. As far as installing the expander, the Expander lower flange clamps might need a little fitting to work on a new bucket, as they are designed to be a compromise fit between new buckets and those with some wear. BX (Thanks BX) did a great job in quickly fabricating I mailing longer flange clamps for mine, as the regular clamps were just not long enough to allow the clamps to engage. You may also need to use longer bolts for the clamps to engage the bucket reinforcement plates properly. I am impressed with both the company, its philosophy, service, and products. I am in the process of ordering their sprayer, and how to modify it into a side spray configuration.

I did in fact get the bucket expander for my BX25, and love it. I can pick up huge loads (balanced by the BH, of course), even rocks!

Photos attached.

Some more feedback on the bucket expander. I have had it for quite a while now, and I like it a lot. It is particularly useful in the winter when I use the FEL to move large amounts of snow. Also, I rarely have so much stuff in the bucket that I cannot lift it with the hydraulics. (Wet sand is one notable exception.). Recently, I had to move around 2 1/2 tri-axle truck loads of topsoil, which is of course quite light, and it was so much faster using the bucket expander.

One minor disadvantage is that you cannot use the BXpanded.com Piranha tooth bar when the bucket expander is on. However, I just have to undo four bolts to take it off, and then do up two bolts to put the tooth bar on. And both attachments are light enough to carry around by hand, so no problem there.

All in all, a great attachment, and I am also looking forward to doing more things with the tooth bar, which I have not used very much yet.

Check, thanks for posting. Are you plowing snow on a paved surface or gravel drive? And did you get the replaceable wear edge? If so on the asphalt or paved surface does the bucket expander edge scar or damage the surface? Would be interested in comments from others that are plowing on a paved surface as well, if you are plowing only on gravel.

Actially, I plow with my CanAm Outlander MAX 650 ATV, which does a great job up until about 8" or so. For deeper stuff or when doing a road that already has windrows, I use my rear-mount blower on the tractor. The FEL with the bucket expander is used for moving piles of snow or pushing back windrows. And I did not buy the wear edge, as I rarely scrape the FEL along pavement. The bucket expander edge is fine for me, and it is just as smooth as the edge of the OEM bucket itself, and does not seem to scar up the pavement on the road that goes by my place.

My driveways are gravel, so I am careful with plowing or snowblowing in the early part of the season, until I build up a bit of a snow pack.
