Whining noise and power steering shudder on Mahindra 3616

Hey there...invaluable forum!!! Spending WAY TOO much time on here

I have a Mahindra 3616 shuttle with only 15 hours...barely had time to use her but looking forward to spring and summer! When I am using it I often hear a whine and then feel a slight shutter in the steering...sometimes I loose power steering but only for a second and it comes right back. I have checked the hydraulic fluid and it's full (checked it on level ground both when it was warmed up and cold). Also moved the steering wheel back and forth for a long time while running to see if there was any air in the lines. Any suggestions? Would hate to have to have dealer come and pick it up when I just got it!

I would check and tighten all of the suction line fittings. Sounds like it is getting air in the system.

There would be several joints in the line from your transmission housing to the hyd filter and on to the hydraulic pump.

I bought a 3616 last fall with 166 hours and it does the same thing every once in a while. The dealer I got it from said it's normal, not a problem.

I agree it sounds like Air in the system

I would check and tighten all of the suction line fittings. Sounds like it is getting air in the system.

When was the filter last changed? If this has an inlet filter on the pump & if it is partially plugged it could also cause this problem. Use an OEM filter if it is a inlet filter.
