There is no hour limit and only in the case of very extreme abuse would a claim be denied. It is a real warranty and you are absolutely right that it is not needed. If it was needed, they couldn't afford to offer it!

You hit the nail on the head about the dealers added value. I have a loaner here at all times in the event that a commercial customer has a machine in need of service. Buy a machine from a box store and chances are you can complete the entire transaction without ever talking to someone who has run one!!

Yeah, buying from a box store makes no sense whatsoever. You can get products for the same price, and sometimes even the same products, at an independent dealer, and for free you get a knowledgable, friendly business who stands behind their product and has parts and knowledge that no box store can come close to competing with. That and the money stays in your local economy rather than going to a global corporation.

Last week I bought a JD Z465 for out-the-door price of $5000.00. I've only used it one time but seems to do a pretty darn good job. I have no idea how long it will last but it does have a 25HP V-twin Kawasaki engine, Parker wheel motors, Kansaki Dup-10 hydraulic pumps and a 62" deck. I tried mowing full out but it was too fast for me. Maybe after I get more accustomed to it I can.

My wife and I bought a Z465 last year. I will admit that we only looked at the TSC and the John Deere dealer, but I liked what I saw with the JD and bought it the same day. I think is was an excellent buy. We have about 2 1/2 acres to mow and my wife gets upset with me if I mow the yard. She has fun mowing. We had a 25 year old Wheel Horse with a 36" deck that took her 4 hours to mow with (it was getting a little tired). It now takes less than 1 1/2 hours. As she said, with the ZTR the engine is behind her and it is much cooler mowing, and much faster. I particularly liked the wheel motors and the hydraulic pump setup. I should have read all of this first, but I would probably have done the same thing. All of the integrated pump and motors I have seen are aluminum, and eventually, you hit a rock and break the housing. I didn't like spending twice as much, but I figure that if the JD lasts as long as my Wheel Horse did, I will be six feet under before I need to worry about another mower. I have a Kubota B6100 and planned to get a finish mower for that, but since my wife wanted the ZTR and she does the mowing, who was I to argue.

I have been looking to upgrade to a new Zturn and must say after months of pricing , deck comparrisions and such I am really leaning towards the Bad Boy. I have been wanting to have a larger deck and dependability and all I have ever heard was Exmark,John Deere,Scag. All and all if your looking for around the home under 3 acres look at the husqvarna RZ4623 or possibly the Troybilt RZT42. But these are mentioned just to those who are not using commercially or for some hardcore cutting.

I've had my Swisher for about three years. It's got about 85 hours on the clock. It's been trouble free until recently. It began making a rattling noise that turned out to be a separating drive belt. I bought a new belt at AutoZone for 6 bucks and I'm back on the road. I keep about 2 Acres but mostly use the ZTR around trees and buildings. I'd rank it at the low end of the high end market.
