Which used ZD model ?

Early ZD's did have problems with mowing side hills with the hydro's. Kubota did offer a kit at the time to increase the oil reservoirs to eliminate the problem and it seems to work. Hour limits on many of them are well beyond many, we have a ZD323/60 over 7,000 hours and we have more in the 4,000 to 6,000 hour range professionally used with no component failures.

Do you have a 72” cut, how do you like it on the hills? Considering a used one with 1200 hrs.

I bought this ZD21 used in June '09, found that it had both blade bolts on the outside spindles stripped, replace those and put on a new belt. Couple of years ago, put tubes in the front tires. Didn't realize i've had it 9 years already. Oil changes and a splash of diesel now and then is all it has needed.

I’m looking at a 331 with 1240 hrs, looks really clean but even with it being a diesel seems high but will likely buy if I can get my price.

I paid $9800 for my zd331 72” mower last year with 500h. The larger deck saves me 60 hours of seat time each year compared to my zd326 with 60” deck.

At least some of the ZD21's had weak trasmissions. I have a high hour ZD326 that been a great machine with normal maintenance and one starter. I bought the ZD331 with 400h, and it had an aggravating fuel delivery problem that was solved with an additional filter and lift pump.
My 331 is significantly faster than the 326, and combined with the 72" deck it is hard to beat.

How do you know if the pump upgrade has taken place or would need it performed?

My ZD21 does not have the extra tank for the hydro, but the dealer told me to keep the fluid over the full mark to the top of the flat on the dipstick and I wouldn't have a problem. Nine years and still kicking.

Got it today, pretty nice for the age and hours of it. Is there anyway to slow the stick response? Seems jerky at times compared to my zx726.

Thanks, the place I bought it from put a good bit of cleaning into and replaced some parts. I am curious as to what it looked like prior to me seeing it. I cut with it on Saturday a good bit, still needs a little bit of work but I’m liking it so far.
