Some tractors are set up to be able to use the individual brakes left side with the Hst controlled by the right foot.:D

The DK Hydrostats have the brakes on the left side since there isn't a clutch pedal.

My other add to this one is, I've never had a gear tranny break, but I've had a hydraulic reverser let go, not pretty and super costly.

Paying less for the gear did not hurt matters either, particularly considering the number of hours (low) that I put on my machine each year.

Hi,
In the 45HP range you will not see a lot of difference in the power and both tractors will work just fine.
I am of the opinion that whatever you use, shuttle or HST, you will become very efficient and comfortable with its operation. Each one will have something over the other one and that will cause people to have opinions.
Try them both, if you are going to do a lot of strenuos dirt work you may find a little more umph in the shuttle shift, you will have to decide. The shuttle will have a self leveling loader and the HST will not, but the lifting capacities are very close.
Both 45HP Kiotis are very reliable tractors.
