Going to beef up my brush guard and bolt on some 3x6" tubing to my front factory frame to weld the D Rings onto. The frame bracket has three factory installed bolt holes and nuts so I want to keep this remove able just incase. I need something on the front incase I need to be pulled out. The only time I've been stuck I was hooked to a hopper spreading lime so I have to wrap a chain in the front and around the frame bracket.

Which do you prefer?

My tractor is about 8500 lbs without a implement.

I would use the one in the bottom pic (with clevis) just in case you have a situation where you only have a cable with an “eye”.

Of course the top one is fine also. Just carry a clevis in your tractor’s toolbox.

Nice thing about the top one is that it’s big enough most any hook will fit in it. The lower one may or may not let you run the hook into it depending own what’s available when its needed. And you know how that goes.
I like big barn idea of keeping a Clevis in the toolbox. One that fits over the d ring. Or just put both of em on.....

I have multiple clevises through holes in the front grill guard & in the rear. I've only put hooks or chains through them so far. Meaning the removable aspect hasn't been to handy for attaching a cable eye or anything. I see the more modular one with a clevis as having more flexibility for unforseen attachment needs.

I like the clevis style. You can weld all four sides on the mount. Used all the time on HD Jeep bumpers for recovery. I have them on my rock crawler bumpers.

Found these D Ring mounts for clevis style. Little more money, but looks like it wrapping around the top or bottom edge of the bumper would add alot of strength to it. Opinions?

Either type posted will work fine. I have the weld on type on my trailer and the bolt on D rings on my tractor. I use a twisted clevis on the rear draw bar for the tractor mainly as tie down points for transport. Next spring I'm going to add a D ring or two on front for pulling.
