Which Optima battery for a 4410 please???

I'd trust the D51R recommendation. I have one on order from Interstate but will not see it for at least a few days as it is a new acount setup. This distributor didn't handle the Optimas a few years back so I was referred to another who was always slow, and unresponsive. We did have a nice delivery deal where he'd drop at my Baldwin Filters distributor and then they'd come with my filters delivery every other week. Now I can get them delivered to my door on the reglar route.

I had corrison problems on my 4310. I put in the yellow top D51R from Remy Battery. Total cost delivered to me was $112.55. This was back in June of last year. I had to make a battery tie down to accomadate the new Optima.

I bought a D51R from Remy earlier this month for my JD4200. Cost $107.95 plus $14.69 shipping by UPS. I made my own hold down using a piece of aluminum flat stock and 10 inch Pep Boys battery hold down bolts (cost about $3.00). The hold down bolts fit through the existing bolt holes without modification.

The D51R is the perfect one for the 2003 JD 790 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif It fits with all the factory mounting /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I know that this is not a 4410 /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Just thought it might help /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Has JD remedied this issue with the new models? I find it interesting that they would use a battery supplier that apparently has such a lousy track record. I have an old yellow top JD battery sitting in the weeds. It has less then a year on it but the cancer it inflicted on a JD 790 is unforgiveable. JD makes some great tractors, the battery supplier they use(d) makes some stinkin lousy batteries. I would be doing the same thing and looking at an immediate replacement if they are using the same battery supplier. RaT..
