I currently have a Massey Ferguson GC1723E I am wanting to upgrade to a SCUT with a backhoe. I am down to the Massey Ferguson GC series and a John Deere 1025R. I like different features on each one just looking for insight and opinions. I have two Massey dealers with in 30 miles and Deere dealer with in 10 miles of me.

Take a look at Tractor Time with Tim on YouTube. He did a nice comparison between a JD 1025r and a Kubota BX. The Kubota does not help but it might give some insight into the JD.

Have you really looked at the Kubota BX? The BH is part of the base price, not an add on. actually you cannot by it w/o the BH. Mine has been a fantastic performer.

These threads always go to people preferring what they have. I looked at all colors before going blue. Comparing price and value left only one option for me.
Was just wondering if anybody had both and preferred one over the other. As far as manufactures specs are concerned the GC series beats the John Deere 1025r. But I have watch a lot of YouTube videos like Tractor Time with Tim, doing things with there 1025r that I am almost certain my current GC1723e will not do, even though the specs on my tractor are "higher".

I recently bought a JD 2025r, which has the same drivetrain as a 1025r and the same end loader, just on a larger chassis. I traded in a Kubota BX for the JD. The telling thing for me is on Tractor Times comparison is the physical size of the JD compared to the BX. It is just bigger with a much larger end loader bucket. When looking at specs there are different ways to compare specs, such as where the lift is from, the pins or in front of the pins. I am not sure how your current tractor compares in size to the JD 1025.

Make the dealer let you try out both the JD 1025R and MF GC with FELs. I had a 1025R between a 4010 (would be a 2019E now) and a 2025R. The main problem with the 1025R was its completely untrustworthy FEL. You never knew when it might just take a dump. By comparison the FELs on the 4010 and the 2025R are completely goofproof.

I like the MF GC line. Nice size/hp. Think their FELs are not as hefty as the 1025R's but hopefully much more trustworthy. We only have Kubota and JD dealerships within any decent distance from us here in Charlottesville, Va.
Think I vaguely recall that MF uses Isuzu engines? Have a 12.5 kw Isuzu diesel generator that's a real gem, since early 2013.

Well look, you already know how the MF is, the backhoe model is mostly the same thing, only with a sucky wobbly seat and a hoe dangling off the back. Bigger rops, also. Me, I'd take the 10 mile trek out to the JD dealer, try out their fare for comparison.
The GC's main advantages are a) you could work the loader and backhoe without bumping the rpm's way up, and b) PRICING!

I dont know anything about either tractor that you mentioned, but I will just say this, both are just backhoe add on's to a tractor frame. If I were buying, I would go with the Kubota BX23S which is a factory designed TLB not a tractor that someone has hung a backhoe on to. My B26 is also a factory designed TLB and has much more weight than a standard B 26XX series with an added hoe.
I dont think anyone other than Kubota makes a factory designed TLB in the SCUT/CUT sized tractors. The last company to make a competitor was the JD 110 but they quit making it years ago. Guess they couldn't compete with the Kubota design.
