Called the guy about the second 1920, the one with attachments. He did not sound like he really wanted to sell. He did send me pic. Wish I had a way to post them. Anyway, it looks good except for a leak under the tractor. don't know how bad it is. Plan to go there this weekend.

Of course he didn't sound like he wanted to sell. He wants you to pay what he's asking. Remember, you don't really want to buy either ;)

To post the picture, reply to this thread. When you're done typing in the box, scroll down a little on the screen until you see the button labeled "Manage Attachments". Click it. Under "Upload File from Your Computer" , click 'Browse' next to it, find the picture on your computer, select it, and then click 'Upload' next to the 'Browse Button'. Once it finishes uploading, close that window and hit "Submit Reply" just like normal. I attached 2 screenshots of the two screens you're looking for...the button you click first is the second one, and the screen you get is the first...

You might look at a little smaller kubota deere or ford. They would handle better & if you get a hydro be easier to use. I know for for 10K or less you could get a good 4x4 w loader/mower that would handle your 5 acres better than you ever expected.

Just don't try one you will buy it.LOL

Looks pretty clean, except for the leak under the front. Check it out good and good luck.

I have been told and have read that I need at least a 30 HP to handle the 5 ft brush hog I use to keep 4.5 of the 5 acars. Is that ture? If not, what is the minimum HP?

The old "rule of thumb" is 5hp per foot of width, but of course, it also depends on how heavy duty the brush hog is, how thick or heavy the stuff you're cutting might be, grass and weeds or trees and saplings? If saplings, how big? And you can always go slower, or overlap so you're only cutting half (or less) of the width of the mower. I was quite happy with a light duty 5' brush hog (Howse 500) on the back of my Kubota B2710 (27 engine hp and I've forgotten exactly what the PTO hp was). Most of my mowing was weeds and grass, but that included some Johnson Grass than was taller than the tractor and thick. And I also occasionally took out some 1" to 1.5" mesquite with no trouble. I always mowed a full width, but did slow down in the heaviest stuff.

A 1920 will handle a 6' mower comfortably.. and it is listed as 29 pto hp / 33 engine hp.

about the pics.. machine looks good.. but that front oil leak needs to be investigated.

gosh.. I miss that column shifter.. wait a minute.. no I don't! I like a ford 8-spd MUCH better..
