kubota B7610
I now have a kubota b7610 with the 60" belly mower. I cut about 2 acres with it. The wife push mowes about 1/4 of an acre around the septic drainage area since the 7610 weighs quite a bit.

The wife is tired of doing this. She wants a rider that we can do the whole yard with.

My yard has some 20+ degree slopes on it. I am looking for a mower that is stable on hills, gets decent traction on the hills, and doesnt break the bank.

I don't want to worry about the wife mowing on the hills, so stability and traction are quite important. Deck size probably should be at minimum 42".

Any ideas on mowers that fit this scenario?? Anyone with hills....what do you cut with?

Anyone want to buy a 2 year old 60" belly mower for a b7610?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thanks
John

WiJC, I mowed for 8yrs with my old Massey135 with a 6' RFM and drove it right over my septic tank @ 4Klbs's, no problems ,Keep your mower deck your tractor should be fine ,Quit punishing the Wife /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif and mow the grass ... My tank lids are about 4-6" under the ground 9yrs no problems /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I mow over where the tank is, it is the drainage area that I am concerned with. I have been told by many that I shouldn't be riding over that area with a mower that heavy.?.?

The pipe is just below ground so there is the possibility of that breaking. Also, compacting the drainage area would lessen absorbtion??

I don't want to be pushing Deere, but I have the all-wheel-steer X485, with 54" deck, and more than 20% slopes, and mow 8 acres. It handles all with ease and speed, plus takes care of spraying, leaf pick-up, lawn rolling, fert. spreading, and trailer chores quite well. Turning on a slope is a picnic with the AWS, and still ceases to amaze me how well that feature works for traction.
You have lots of options, but I'd take this (my) arrangement, especially the AWS, over any others for all-around lawn chores.
Good luck picking and making a choice. I'd suggest getting some demo's for trying out to make the final decision.
