hello everyone, i am new here and do not know much about kubota. i have 10 acres...5 to brush hog....a long driveway to clear snow from and i maintain the the hunting trails on the 160 acres that suround me. i am wondering what kubota would be the best for my needs. the b3030, l3240 or the 3400 are what i have kinda been looking at. any comments

thanks j

Get the largest that fits your budget Then consider the nice things to add. Like a cab to keep you warm in the snow and cool and CLEAN when mowing. KennyV.

First I'm not a farmer. I have 5 acres of rocky, ditched hillside residential in Ky. I started with a BX2200 FEL, MMM and BX1500. Traded BX2200 for a B7800 FEL and RFM. This year I traded B7800 for a L3240HST and the BX1500 for a BX2350 and bought a F2880 to replace a gas Kubota mower I sold. From the B to the L about doubles the weight the motor is moving. Doubt that has major impact on level land. Has big impact on steep hills. Second I'm HST only with FEL. Again I'm not a farmer that just goes back and forth down acres of field. To be a contrarian as Art (Kubota dealer) is, bigger is not better which is really difficult for me because I am so much a "TIM THE TOOLMAN" kind of guy as you can see by my progressive buying bigger Kubotas over the past 4 years. The B7800 is much more suited to my needs than the L3240HST. The L rides better but it does not mow as good as the B on the steep hills because of the extra hp needed to move the tractor up the steep hills which takes from the pto running the mower. Art has always preached, as a dealer, that bigger is not better and several thousands of dollars later he's converted me. Any of the Kubotas you mentioned will probably do the job. I just have a preference for B's for my need over the L which I currently own. When I trade again, I'll probably trade the L for a B3030.

Any of the ones you mention should be up to the tasks required. I'd also look at the B7800.:D

i have a B7100 dinky 17 hp tractor from the 90's and it is awesome. i'm also using it on about 10 acres of mountains, with very steep trails i have to mow backwards up the mountain side.

my tractor is a small. the perfect tractor would be a bit larger, so all the ones you mentioned would be great.

What ever you buy purchase a flail mower for it and suitcase weights and you will not regret it as we have pages and pages of good things to say about flail mowers-also look up ironhorses postings about flail mower safety versus a rotary cutter and you will be buying a flail mower for the new tractor-especially after you read his posting about how far a metal bolt was propelled by impact of the rotary mowers blades.
widening the wheel base on the rears, with wheel weights, loaded tires and front suitcase weights you should have no problems in four wheel drive mowing anywhere.

A flail mower with front and rear rollers will eliminate scalping and add a good amount of weight to the tractor for good ground hugging too.
