After buying a wrong part, instead of buying and trying I figured I'd ask here if someone has a part number I can just order online.

I have a 1/2" male O-ring end on the hydraulic hide and need it to fit my tractor side 3rd function quick attach.

This is the half inch hose side (for my new tree shear).

This is the tractor side quick attach. More photos to come but I can only post one photo per post for some reason

I purchased this as it fit the tractor side quick attach but I couldn't seem to get an adapter at the store which fit the hose side and the tractor side. All they had was female pipe and nothing else so I just returned them today in hopes someone here would have the right parts for me

I'm no expert but it seems to me you have to find a female threaded, female hydraulic quick coupler fitting to screw on to the half inch shear fitting and you'll be set. I don't know what size that quick attach on the tractor side is but I'd put some calipers on it if I were you. Since it's a third function it may be aftermarket and maybe not a Kubota standard. Measure, then eyeball what's on the web.

Will a poppet end work with a ball end?

Also, do poppet vs flat have a different flow rate ? Not that this should overall make a difference is think. Does it change PSI at all?

Isn't that going to end up with a male to male quick connect? It looks like he has a male end on his tractor third function hose.

It's ok, I should of been more clear, I'll need one female and one male.

Now go look at your other implements that line connects to and see which female coupler is on it, then look for the same coupler with a 1/2 female threaded end at a hydraulics supply place like the one the other poster posted up. You only need one fitting and that will be to adapt the 1/2" female threaded fitting to the female hydralic quick coupling. It doesn't look like an NPT pipe fitting because it has an O ring so isn't an NPT fitting.

Will a poppet end work with a ball end? YES

Also, do poppet vs flat have a different flow rate ? As long as both have the same size body, (1/2"?)they should flow the same.

Not that this should overall make a difference is think.

Does it change PSI at all? NO

I hope that this helps some.

All this info is on the web, you just need to look. Google is your friend.

Put a -8 ORB female to 1/2" NPT male adapter and then use standard AG couplers. You may need adapters for the tractor side to go from 3/8 to 1/2" if your setup is the same as mine.

The Parker 4300 Catalog 4300 - section F "Pipe Fittings and Port Adapters" has SAE ORB (O-Ring Boss, straight thread) adapters, and every other variation. Every fitting you could imagine can be found on this catalog available for down load from the Parker site.

From you first photo the fitting is a ORB. The only question is it truly a a 1/2" (#8 ORB, 3/4-16 thread) on the 1/2" hose, or is it 3/8" (#6 ORB, 9/16-18 thread). The tractor side looks to be NPT. If the 3/8", Parker makes an adapter shown below. If the 1/2" you are good to go. They also have NPT to SAE-ORB adapters if you go that route.

Straight thread ORB reducer - expander.jpg

Also if you need additional Quick Couplers (Parker Quick Couplings Catalog 3400 - Section B "Hydraulic Quick Couplers" PDF download) makes a 4000 and 4200 series of manual quick couplings in 1/2" size with either NPT or SAE-ORB connections conforming to ISO 5675 (standard agricultural fitting) . They also make a 8010 series nipple and an 8200 series coupler that you can connect under pressure, if your implement has shifted and there is too much pressure in the implement lines to connect to the tractor.

Most other companies can cross reference a Parker #

Just about every fitting imaginable is avaliable.

I am still confused what you are actually looking for. Are you looking for the male QC fitting or a female QC fitting? And looking for the QC fitting to thread onto the ORB hose correct?

If so, I'd get an ORB>NPT adapter and use the standard QC's. Finding QC's that are ORB isnt impossible, but harder than finding them with the standard NPT fittings, especially in a pinch.

Hectic week and haven't had a chance to buy them yet. I actually need a male and female QC. And yes, QC to fit ORB. As you stated, may have to pick up standard QC with adapters from ORB to NPT.

The problem I had at the local store is they had the QC's but no adapters from ORB to NPT

And that is why I would NOT order QC's that fit direct to an ORB fittiing. Get the adapters. Cause it you ever need to replace a QC, it gonna be alot easier to get them in NPT in a in a rush

Tractor and Ag Supply companies have limited fittings when it comes to plumbing hydraulic systems.

A better choice is to go to a local independent heavy equipment parts supplier. They make up hydraulic hoses for most construction and heavy equipment with almost any conceivable hose end fittings. Turnaround time is critical to their success, so they carry a wide variety of adapters and other fittings. My local hydraulic shop had my 1/2" quick connects in both ORB or NPT and lots of adapters. What they don't have, they can get from distributors is one or two days. It is very rare that it is the fitting that is the reason for a rush trip.

A google search shows several close to the town in your signature and surprisingly the Parker Corporate headquarters is just 20 miles to your west. If you don't have time to drive over to one of these equipment parts suppliers, a call to them and a discussion of what you are trying to do will make for a very productive drive to pick up everything you'll need in one trip.

I second or third a Parker Store or equal . My brother has a J.D. 3030 or something like that with a after market imported B.H. with it's own hyd. resevoir and pump via the PTO shaft . Broke a line at the fitting as it was actually routed in a bad way . Took it to the Parker store and withing 15 minutes , We had a new line with fittings with a adapter on the one end that routed the line out at a 90 degree angle , rather than straight , Which alowed Us to route it in a better location .
I would take both fittings in and likely withing a few minutes , any good shop would have You up and running . Doubt You would lose much fluid form the tractor side as long as the pressure was off .

Rolled into the Parker store today. Sweet place with lots of cool stuff. I will be returning for future things

As for today, I picked up some fitting but u fortunately they didn't work out as it began to squirt heavily from the swivel coupler. I'll be returning to fix this up but I am happy with the service and there locations
