I asked this in the oil forum but I don't think its as active as ths one, any suggestions?
Thanks

I know its probably been answered a 100 times but I tried doing some searches and didnt come up with much. But is there a consensus on the BEST grease for my Kubota BX22? I really don't mind spending the extra bucks on a certain brand or on synthetic if it helps. Considering the amount of money I have into the machine it would probably make me feel better spending more money on grease :)

tbohen,
My opinion is that it is not necessary to use the best grease. It is far more important that the greasing is done frequently, and consistently. That opinion is based on 20 years of being in the trade and seeing the effects of most everything! I know that doesn't really answer you question to a tee. Go to any parts store and buy a good middle of the road chassis grease and you will be fine.
Good luck....Bruce

I heartily agree! IF there were a miracle grease that would totally eliminate wear, it would be well known. I use Shell grease, and buy it buy the box (12 sticks) for about 16 bucks(not because it is super duper, but the jobber is a reliable source and the local loggers use it with good results.). That lasts me about 2 years. Resist the urge to change brands every time you read a label extolling the virtues of its grease, or hear someone claim such and such is wonderful, etc.

I agree. The manual states to try to get som Poly Moly stuff in the grease :) I went to my local Agri-Supply store and they pointed me in the right direction. Boy does our lil 22BX have a lot of grease fittings (biggrin). Also don't forget to grease your MMM after 3 hours of use!

Yeah every 3 hours on the MMM. There are 3 grease fittings. One for each blade. The tech that went over the tractor with me when I first bought it told me to do this. He said it will eliminate a lot of wear. I figure everytime I mow (the least I will mow is 5 acres) I hit it with the grease gun. The one in the middle is a pain in the rear if you don't have a flexible tip.
