I use whatever I can find that's cheap. Loaders and hoes get greased so much that whatever you use will not wear out or fail you in anyway.

Traveller " Premium Truck and Tractor grease", red in color, for use in extreme pressure applications ( Tractor Supply Brand ) Bought 4 cases - 48 tubes - about 4 yrs ago when they marked them down from 3.99 to .99 ...... Takes forever to wash off your Hands ! ! ! !

I use what ever NGLI #2 grade (lithium) grease is on sale, Like Old Pilgrim said, if you grease it as per the manual you will never have any trouble. The only thing that would require a specific grease would be like a high speed bearing. The throw-out bearing is the only one that comes to my mind right now and the grease's with the above rating will cover that also.

for starters your way ahead of most by actually caring and greasing your equipment, lol

personally I like lithium grease that is fortified with molybdenum, aka moly grease. Brand wise I like Mag1 greases and lubricants, they are a good value, meets top specs, are open with technical info on their products and best of all have free shipping on amazon.

Ill second the NLGI grade 2 for almost all locations. Then just make note if there are any locations that specifically specify something else special is necessary such as busynsr pointed out. This is coming from an old crusher guy where mining equipment sees some of the most severe conditions!

Beware there are some locations that you should NOT use molybdenum based grease- as a general rule-of-thumb such as in a roller bearing but is excellent for use in bushings such as rod ends and joints of a loader or back hoe where there is high friction but low movement. I would never use it say, on a pillow block bearing or a PTO U-joint.

IMHO, a tractor guy should have 3 grease guns: 1 that is commonly used with NLGI grade 2, the second with a synthetic lithium, and a third with Moly.
