gentlemen,
as i previously mentioned, i sold my toro zero turn, and am somewhat eager (wife is not), to replace it. my property, (1.5 acres) is oddly configured. a large triangle, parallelogram (still, i had to sell, the zero for a year round machine) . . . increased seat time until i figure out a good changeable mowing pattern.
on one hand, i see a 48" deck as a good and proper size, however . . . i like the greater trim-ability, on either side of the machine with the 54" fine cut/mulching set-up., and it also makes sense. i have a fair number of trees (etc.) and a couple of property lines i'd like to nail/dead on
does anyone have advice for me as a newbie . . . my only previous experience with "ORANGE," has been nearly twenty years as a ping golf club fitter, and flat lie orange color code player . . . thanks in advance. shrekbelly

I can't speak for the other decks, but I'm quite satisfifed with the 54" fine cut / mulching setup on my BX24.

The anti-scalp wheels are fixed on the front of the 48" deck, and the rear ones can't be rotated to facilitate removal of the deck.... certainly something to consider. I have a 48" deck on my big Simplicity Legacy, and while it fits between everything, I wouldn't buy a deck that close to the width of the tractor again. Many times if you are close enough to trim with the deck, the back tire will hit the obstacle.... The offset on the Kubota 54" decks is very good on the trimming side, and I'm sure I would choose that deck even if it meant hand trimming between things in places it wouldn't fit.
Hope this helps
