just went and got prices on both and i am really stuck now. Both seem like they are good with the woods having a lil more reach and power and i can get it with the thumb for same price as the 448. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I haven't see the Woods, but there's no way that anything could be easier than installing and removing a JD rockshaft mounted backhoe.

I've got a 90x and put it on yesterday in probably 8-10 minutes. Mine is a subframe and it is extremely easy to put on. I was at first a little hesitant about taking it off and putting it on by myself but it really is a one person job. I received mine a little over a week ago and yesterday was the first time I got to really use it. While not as powerful as a full size backhoe I am very pleased with it's performance.

With the bh90-x is there plenty of ground clearance and what do you have to do do get the backhoe on and off?? I will only use it a couple days a month and want to be sure it is easy to take off and then use 3pt attachments. The jd448 you have to take the 3pt arms off and that is it. Is the bh90-x the same way??? I need help, i can get the woods with hydralic thumb for same price as the jd 448. Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

There is plenty ground clearance with the subframe. I mean it literally is an 8-10 minute job to drop my bush hog and hook up the bh. Some models you do have to take off the lift arms and I had to take them off on mine. I wasn't aware of that originally and didn't like it because I wasn't told up front BUT it is very easy to do and it only takes about a minute to take my lift arms off.

Have you been able to dig with the woods yet?? How is the power and overall feel off it. Does the hoe mount fairly close to the tractor b/c on the website it looked like it hung outthere a lil bit? Thanks

also an after thought.....if the subframe/bh fit much tighter to the tractor then I would have one heck of a time getting the pto pump on. It is a good fit.

IMO, the JD 448 is a nice hoe made for your tractor. It goes on and off in about 3 minutes. I just bought a 48 hoe for my 4410. The 90X looks like a nice hoe. I just like the ease of installing and removing the JD attachments. You should also compare the feel of the joy sticks between the two. If you have used many hoes or excavators you will develop a preference for certain things as far as the sensitivity of the sticks and the arrangement of the sticks. So try them both before you buy if your uncertain. There is more than price to consider here.
