I can't help you, but I can tell you that NH has decks for TC40's. We had one with an 84" deck and it cut great.
I like JD's alot more, but you gotta get the tractor that suits your needs best.

In the near recent offerings, the John Deere 4700 and 4710 have mid PTO kits available. I think these older tractors take the same kit as the current 4120-4720 tractors. Your choices in the 40-50 HP range are probably going to be somewhat limited as compact tractor horsepower only fairly recently started creeping into that range.
