I just got one off of ebay they have a number of them on there. The one I got can go horizontal of vertical and came with the hoses. I am not sure on the flow requirements for the splitter though. I think yours would run it but just slowly.

Perhaps everyone's boycotting your threads until you reinstall your ROPS. We're very safety-conscious here. :)

don't need to re-install, look carefully, it's just folded down. the tractor in that pic is a 4310, i don't even own it anymore.

Hook the splitter up to a PTO powered hydraulic pump, rather than your tractor hydraulics, and you can run just about any splitter you want.

You might get more responses if you post in the JD forum.

Your post count has nothing to do with the # of replies you get...But you did ask two very specific questions that most propably cannot help with:

preferably one that can split in both directions.
I personally know of none that will do this...But the Speedco splitter that TSC will work on your tractor but it would be painfully slow.

Youur 2305 does not have 5.2 GPM to operate the splitter, it only has 2.9 GPM for the implements, the other 2.3 GPM from the pump goes directly to the steering system via a priority flow divider. Read this:

Implement 2.9 (10.8)

Maximum Operating Pressure (PSI) 1987

So, with only 2.9 GPM and 1987 PSI I do not think a 3PH unit is right for your machine, unless as suggested above you use a PTO powered pump, but that will add about $400 to the cost of this setup...

There are TONS of posts here about logsplitters, did you do a search?

thanks, I appreciate the help! this unit, with the power beyond kit, can run a backhoe attachment and not a splitter? I don't see how this could be. this is why I posted in the first place, because i did a search and came up empty handed with this kind of info on small tractors. much appreciated info, thanks, Trev
