Anyone got an idea on mounting a tool box on a 2210BD? It has a loader on it and there just isn't a good place I can see to put one. I'm not talking about anything big - just something to hold a hammer, adjustable wrench, pliers, etc. The only idea I have now is to remove the grab handle on top of the fender on the right side and put it there. I'd also have to remove the light that is mounted there. I think it will kinda be in the way there, but I can't find much of an alternative.

Thanks for any ideas!

I picked up a zip up tool bag at Harbor Freight and hang it behind the seat when I want to carry tools with me. I seem to need them most when I have to clear up a debris jam from feeding the chipper too much too fast.

I have a plastic box - similar to the ones that contractor power tools come in but smaller, Bunjied to the front edge of my HF QuickHitch. Its set up where I can open it without releasing the Bunji cord. Just right for 3-point pins and clips, a couple of tiny wrenches to adjust the up/down limits of the 3-point, screwdriver, fence pliers, etc. I'll go out and take a photo if this would help.

Also - see my sig photo below - on the little Yanmar I have toddler-size backpacks hanging off each side of the cowl with their top-center grab handles looped around the fuel filler. In the past one of those bags was a six-pack insulated soft bag. Contents: 2-quart cranberry juice bottle holding drinking water, pruning shears, flagging, room for a light sweater if I take it off midmorning. On the larger Yanmar there's room to hang similar bags - small canvas shopping bags - from the ROPS. I added two golf bags for the long handle tools I need in the orchard - hoe, shovel, bow saw in the back one. The front one (hard to see, red, behind the right loader column) carries two 10 ft chains and a long-handled pruner.

I now have a different small Yanmar, this one with a loader, and I lashed a piece of Sch80 plastic drain pipe vertical on the left loader upright. I use it to carry the long handled pruner, or a shovel if I'm doing road work.

Hope this gives you some ideas!

A lot of Yanmars, in particular a YM2000 came with a toolbox, pretty much as you describe, bolted to the top of the bell housing. I bet Hoye has one in their salvage yard and you can just find a place to mount it, possibly behind the front bumper. I carry a whisk broom, for the radiator, 2 12" adj. wrenches a couple of allen wrenches and some pto shear bolts in mine.

How about behind the seat? Or if you're like me, I have a backhoe so no place behind the seat so will put something on the right side where I can't get on the tractor anyway due to loader controls etc. in the way. That's where I plan to put something on my Mahindra with loader and hoe anyway. Sure can't put a step on the right side. You could but it wouldn't do any good.
I've seen some on this board and it's usually in one of those two places. I'll have to fab up a frame of some sort for it though.

Ammo can on the right side fender works for me. Fence pliers, tape measures (25' & 100'), chain saw file and bar wrench, gloves, spare electric fence insulators, and an old 64oz Gatorade bottle of water... more junk in there I can't remember, probly a few hitch pins, maybe a sharpie marker...

Thanks for all the ideas. Hanging a bag from the ROPS system is a great idea, and I have a canvas bag that will work there. The ammo can is mounted in the place I had in mind, but its pretty tight on the little Yanmar. My JD came with a tool box mounted on the left side, but the fender on it is plenty big to handle it without it being in the way. Even the Super C had an open tool area under the seat. In order to put something permanent behind the seat on this tractor, I believe I gotta mount it to back of the ROPS system.

Thanks again for the help.

I have an old narrow metal tool box mounted between the ROPS uprights. I wedged a piece of 5/4 PT between the uprights, bent some aluminum brackets, screwed them to the PT, and wire tied the other end to the ROPS. The tool box got screwed to the PT. It's been like that for years, and works great.

On my previous tractor I mounted a metal fishing tackle box on the metal fender for a tool box. It was OK but as I slowly kept adding more & more to this tool box the weight started to make the arrangement shake & rattle. It was sure handy but kind of a PITA also. Current tractor came with a small tool box right behind the seat. Better location but somewhat small.

This is what I did - But realized too late that my quick hitch when raised and adjusted will hit the back of both of these tool boxes. But it still works great for me.
