Hi, does anyone know of a good place to get the nylon (or whatever material they are made from) tie downs? I need them to be at least 10,000 pound rated and 25' -30' long. I know TSC has some but I was hoping to find some online to compare. Thanks.

Northern Tools has them and they also carry replacement straps.
I know cause i am going to have to order some . i had one snap while trailering my tractor . i have since gone to chains and binders for the tractor.

Did anything happen when your strap snapped? I only use chains and binders while hauling our equipment. But when we haul wire the chains damage the wire too much so the straps are better for that.

I had two other straps holding the tractor so it didnt move. i just tied the broken one togather and retightened it.
The chains do scratch the paint where it binds but i can touch up paint. i am thinking of getting some heat shrink for the chains to prevent the scratching.

I have been told that any fraying on the straps can cause it to fail. it doesnt take much to fray them.

That is something I have never worried about. I put more scratches on my tractor then what the chain does. Plus, I bind the front where the axel piviots and in the back I bind off a clevis attached to the drawbar (so any scratches do not show anyways). Have never had a problem and I haul my tractor all over the county. I have always had my doubts with straps because I didn't like the idea of something that can tear holding my tractor down so I only use them on something that needs the delicate touch that chains lack.
