So I've read lots on adding work lights to my DK and I'm still not sure what to do. I wanted to know which wires to splice into or there is a spare circuit is it ok to use that??

there is a 7 wire harness towards the back that you can use

My preference is to not use the factory wiring. Tap in at the battery terminals and protect the circuit with a fuse near the battry tap.

I agree thats what i did with my 2 auxilary light circuits and my winch circuit. I run a 15 amp fuse for 4 - 55 watt halogen work lights, never blown a fuse although it's probably under sized. I like it that way blow the fuse first before anything else.
I run a 10,000 pound winch with "0" welding cable leads and fork truck battery quick connectors and run a 50 amp fuse in a 8gage inline fuse. Never blown that one either, even one a heavy pull where I had to chain the tractor to a tree to pull another down.
